Guess who's back? After celebrating our 100th edition, we took a short break. But now, we're back with a vengeance!
Recently, I’ve been dabbling in React Native so I can build my own mobile app. I have an idea for an app where you can place a bet between friends to see who can stay the most committed to a habit.
This weekend’s tutorial is the perfect crash course if you’re new to React Native or if you have some experience already and want to sharpen your skills.
Tutorial of the week:
Length: 4.5 hours

3 frontend projects of the week:
Use these projects to inspire future projects of your own. They aren’t meant to be unicorns, they’re meant to be personal projects. Something you might use a few times and show off to family and friends.
1. Notable People
Here’s a great project, view the birth place of notable people from around the world. Filter by sports, science, leadership, and more!
Using data from Morgane Laouenan et al., the map is showing birthplaces of the most "notable people" around the world. Data has been processed to show only one person for each unique geographic location with the highest notability rank.
2. Pop Game
Simple game, which country has the larger population!?
3. 2024 Eclipse Simulator
And it wouldn’t be right to not include a solar eclipse project! Did you watch it?
That’s all folks!
I hope you enjoyed this weekend’s edition of Weekend Web Dev!
